Old Elm Extending Dining Table

Constructed from reclaimed elm, this extending dining table brings forward wood shaped by long use and natural settling. The surface reveals the elm’s distinctive grain patterning, tonal variation, and softened wear, allowing its prior life to remain visible rather than refined away. The tabletop reads as grounded and familiar, defined by continuity and material honesty.

A straightforward base supports the form with quiet structural clarity, maintaining balance as the table expands. The extension leaves are integrated with restraint, allowing the surface to lengthen in service of gathering without interrupting its rhythm or presence. Hand-finishing preserves joins, edges, and transitions, keeping the material legible throughout each configuration.

Key Features:

• Reclaimed Elm Construction: Salvaged elm carried forward through careful stewardship, preserving settled grain, texture, and material history.
• Extending Tabletop Design: A composed surface that adapts to larger gatherings while maintaining continuity and balance.
• Grounded Support Structure: Solid legs and stretchers that provide stability and visual restraint beneath the table.
• Hand-Finished Character: Visible wear, tonal shifts, and surface markings reflect time, use, and the human hand.

Held in steady service rather than reinvention, this table allows reclaimed elm to continue its purpose, offering a grounded surface that expands naturally as shared meals and repeated moments accumulate over time.
